job description
Maintains, performs setup and operates two axis and dynamic FLOW CNC waterjet cutting centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts applying knowledge of cutting processes and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and nesting techniques.
Duties
- Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of cuts, and setup requirements.
- Aligns, and secures materials and fixtures on waterjet tables.
- Program using FLOWMASTER software. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance cutting, and adjust machine controls as required.
- Verify dimensions of finished part using measuring instruments, such as micrometers,
- Calipers, height gauges, cmms Faro Arms Vertek laser scanners and gauge blocks.
- Properly deburr edges and holes of parts. Protect parts from damage during run and subsequent operations.
- Maintain and service pumps, cutting nozzles and orifices.maintain cutting table. (Machine maintenance)
qualifications
- Ability to operate and maintain CNC waterjets with FLOWMASTER software .
- Determine when a measurement is falling out of spec/Ability.
- Blue Print Reading – ability to identify and interpret various view orientations.
- Ability to identify company, drawing # and revision level, identify tolerance,
- Can identify proper materials, overall sizes, number of holes, size of holes,etc.
- Set basic cutting head offset, change cut diameter values, machine zeros, etc.
