Electrical Insulation

Machining and fabricating parts from electrical insulation materials is something MetPlas has done since our founding back in 1981 and it continues to be a significant part of our business today. Materials used for electrical insulation can be abrasive on tooling and very dusty but we’ve refined out processes over the past 40 years to become experts in the industry. Some common materials we make parts from include:
- Glastic & Haysite GPO1, GPO2 or GPO3 glass polyesters
- FR4/G10 & G11 glass epoxy
- G5 & G9 glass melamine
- G7 glass silicon
- Polycarbonates such as Lexan and Tuffak
- Polypropylene such as Formex

Products we’ve supplied custom insulation components for include:
- Switchgear
- Drives
- Transformers
- Circuit Breakers
- Electrical busways
- Motors
- Inverters
- Power supplies
- Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS)
